Office of Hawaiian Affairs supports Aka`ula School

Aka`ula School recently received a grant in the amount of $86,076.20 from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA).

The grant’s purpose is for Aka`ula School teachers and students to work together to develop culturally responsive educational resources that would allow teachers and leaders to replicate the PRISM project in their own community.  Upon the project’s completion, 100 educational kits will have been published and a webpage designed that is dedicated to the dissemination of materials.

At the end of the granting period, students and teachers will offer workshops and distribute materials to benefit Hawaiian communities and students.

The Board of Trustees of Aka`ula School is grateful to OHA for its support and for OHA’s role in helping to shape the school’s history and traditions.
